Mumbai: Technical Snag Halts Rajyarani Express Near Kalyan, Briefly Disrupts Central Railway Services

Mumbai, August 4 : A technical glitch brought the Rajyarani Express to an unexpected halt near Kalyan station on Monday morning, causing a brief disruption in the Central Railway’s fast suburban services. The incident occurred at around 8:15 AM on the fast track heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT).
According to railway sources, the train suffered a technical snag just outside Kalyan station. The fault led to a 30-minute halt, during which time a few fast local trains were held up, creating a domino effect and delaying suburban services on the main line for approximately 15–20 minutes.
Railway officials acted swiftly to identify and resolve the issue, allowing the Rajyarani Express to resume its journey towards CSMT shortly after. By 9:00 AM, normalcy was restored on the affected route.
"Only a few fast locals were affected during the disruption, and all services are now running as per the normal schedule," a Central Railway official confirmed.
The brief interruption once again highlights the need for consistent maintenance and monitoring of train operations, especially during peak hours on Mumbai’s congested railway network.
