Nag Mark 2: India's Game-Changer Anti-Tank Missile

Pokhran Field Range, Rajasthan: India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted field evaluation trials of the Nag Mark 2, the country’s indigenous third-generation fire-and-forget anti-tank guided missile. These trials, held on Monday at Pokhran Field Range in Rajasthan, marked a significant leap in India’s defense capabilities.

The trials saw the missile system effectively destroy all targets across the maximum and minimum range, confirming its precision and operational effectiveness. The system is designed to neutralize modern armored threats, including those equipped with explosive reactive armor (ERA), proving its versatility in complex battlefield environments.

Nag Mark 2 uses cutting-edge fire-and-forget technology, enabling operators to lock onto targets before launch, ensuring pinpoint accuracy during engagements. With the successful field trials of the missile and its carrier, this next-generation anti-tank guided missile is now poised for induction into the Indian Army.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised DRDO, the Indian Army, and industry partners for this achievement, highlighting the role of the indigenously developed Nag Mark 2 in strengthening India’s defense readiness.
