New Year Nightmare in Juhu: Man Hammers Girlfriend’s Father During Midnight Clash

Juhu, Mumbai: A heated confrontation on New Year's Eve turned violent when a man allegedly attacked his girlfriend's father with a hammer. The incident occurred around 1 am on January 1 at Nehru Nagar, Juhu, leaving the victim hospitalised with multiple injuries.

The 58-year-old victim, who had gone to his daughter’s home to wish her a happy New Year, was met with an unsettling sight: her boyfriend, a known troublemaker with a history of criminal cases, at her residence. A heated argument ensued, during which the accused reportedly threatened the father, saying, “If you come between me and my girlfriend, I will kill you,” before assaulting him with a hammer.

The accused’s violent reputation in the Juhu area is well known, with dozens of cases of intimidation and assault registered against him.

The victim suffered serious injuries to his head and shoulder and was rushed to Cooper Hospital, where his condition is now stable. Senior Inspector Mahadeo Kumbhar confirmed the arrest of the accused, who has been remanded to police custody, and said a case has been registered under relevant sections.
