OneTicket App Launches on ONDC: Mumbaikars Can Now Book Metro Tickets Across All Lines with a Single Click

Mumbai, September 25, 2025: In a significant leap toward smart and seamless commuting, Mumbaikars can now book tickets for all operational metro lines in the city using just one application — the newly launched OneTicket App. Integrated with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), this app promises to eliminate the hassle of multiple bookings across different metro operators, bringing uniformity and ease to millions of daily commuters.
The initiative, which began as a pilot project in June 2025 for Mumbai Metro Line 3, received strong positive feedback from early users. Encouraged by the response, the Mumbai Metro authorities, in collaboration with ONDC and Sequel String AI, have now expanded the app to support all currently operational metro corridors in the city.
According to a senior official from Mumbai Metro One, the launch of OneTicket comes at a critical time, with the metro network set to grow from 70 km to over 340 km in the coming years. Until now, commuters needed to use different apps or purchase physical tickets separately for each metro line. The OneTicket app changes this, offering end-to-end ticketing through a single platform, regardless of the number of lines or operators involved in the journey.
The app has been developed with a strong focus on user convenience. It offers auto-detection of the nearest station using Google location services, making route selection faster and more intuitive. Once a commuter selects their destination and confirms the fare, the app generates a real-time QR code ticket, which can be scanned directly at metro turnstiles — removing the need for paper tickets or tokens. The app supports multiple payment modes, including UPI, credit cards, and debit cards.
Speaking about the project, Nitin Nair, Senior Executive Director at ONDC, highlighted the real-life convenience the app brings to commuters. “Now, a passenger traveling from Dahisar to BKC doesn’t need to book tickets multiple times or switch apps. OneTicket enables a single booking, a single payment, and a single QR code for the entire journey,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ravish Sahay, CEO of Sequel String AI, which supported the tech backend of the app, called the launch a "landmark moment" for Indian urban mobility. “This is more than just an app. It’s a statement about how AI, mobility solutions, and open digital infrastructure like ONDC can come together to transform everyday lives,” he said.
In addition to ticketing, the app also offers detailed station information, benefiting both daily commuters and first-time users unfamiliar with the city’s expanding metro network. Its clean interface and intuitive design ensure that users of all ages can navigate and book tickets with ease.
The OneTicket App is now available for download on both Android and iOS platforms. Android users can find it on the Google Play Store as OneTicket, while iPhone users can search for OneTicketIndia in the App Store.
With festivals like Navratri underway and a surge in daily ridership, this launch couldn’t have come at a better time for Mumbai. The city, known for its complex but vital public transport systems, is now one step closer to offering truly smart, unified, and commuter-friendly travel.
