Parents of the Victim Want to Join the Student Protest.

Kolkata—The parents of the doctor-student who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College have demanded a swift investigation by the CBI. Despite 14 days having passed since the incident, they have yet to receive answers to their questions about why their daughter was killed, who was responsible, and where the murder took place. The parents have stated that they want to continue their protest alongside the student movement until justice is served.

On Friday, the victim's mother said, "The movement should intensify until justice is delivered. The state government has been following a double standard." She added, "We trust the CBI to solve the case. The state administration has not reached any conclusion."

The victim's parents mentioned that they primarily wish to join the student protests. They said, "We have lost our daughter, but today all the protesters are demanding justice for our child. We also consider them as our children and want to join the protest with them. We are demanding justice, and we will participate in any protest that fairly invites us."

The parents claimed that their daughter had informed them that patients from various places could not be admitted due to the presence of a broker network active in the hospital. They also noted that a similar broker network exists in higher education, which they had known about for a long time. They urged the administration to take these issues seriously, as it involves millions of rupees. The administration and those operating the hospital are involved in this, and junior doctors are frustrated as they have to work hard to reach such positions.

They also mentioned that there have been some rumors circulating on social media about their daughter. After their request, several people have removed their posts. They have appealed to the administration not to misuse their daughter's name.
