Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Asht Lakshmi Festival in New Delhi at 3 PM Today

New Delhi, December 6 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first-ever three-day Asht Lakshmi Festival in the national capital, Delhi, today. The grand event will be held at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Indian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) informed about the Prime Minister's schedule on their X (formerly Twitter) handle this morning. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India released a detailed statement about the inauguration ceremony on the eve of the event.
According to the PIB release, this festival will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Northeast India. The event will bring together a variety of traditional arts, crafts, and cultural practices. It will promote economic opportunities in traditional handicrafts, handlooms, agricultural products, and tourism. The release further mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in line with his commitment to highlighting the cultural vibrancy of Northeast India, will inaugurate the Asht Lakshmi Festival at Bharat Mandapam today around 3 PM. The three-day cultural festival will conclude on December 8.
The PIB statement added that the festival will feature exhibitions by artisans, rural markets (haats), and state-specific pavilions. Technical sessions on key areas for the development of the Northeast region will also be organized during the three-day event. Major activities will include an Investor Roundtable Conference and Buyer-Seller Meetings, designed to provide a unique opportunity to build and strengthen networks, partnerships, and joint initiatives that promote economic development in the region.
The festival will also feature a Design Conclave and Fashion Show. The rich handloom and handicraft traditions of Northeast India will be displayed on a national platform. The event will also showcase vibrant music and cuisine from the Northeast region.
