Rishit Jhunjhunwala Steps In as CEO of Truecaller

Truecaller announced on Thursday that Rishit Jhunjhunwala will take over as CEO on January 9, 2025, succeeding Alan Mamedi. Jhunjhunwala, who has been with the company since 2015 and currently serves as Chief of Products and Managing Director of the India division, will lead the company as Mamedi transitions to a board member and advisor role.

The leadership change comes as co-founders Mamedi and Nami Zarringhalam revealed they would step down from operational duties by mid-2025, while continuing to guide Truecaller’s long-term strategy.

The announcement coincides with news of Indian tax officials conducting raids at Truecaller’s India offices on allegations of tax evasion. The company confirmed it is fully cooperating with the authorities and emphasized that it is not under investigation beyond routine audits, stressing its commitment to compliance and transparency.

Truecaller’s financial statements have consistently passed audits, and the company has always paid taxes due in all regions where it operates.
