Romania to Host 2026 European Men's Handball Youth Championship

Bucharest, December 19 : Romania will host the 2026 European Men's Handball Youth Championship in Cluj-Napoca and Turda, as announced by the General Secretary of the Romanian Handball Federation (FRH), Nicolae Luca, on Wednesday.
This will be the second major European handball event to be held in Romania in 2026, alongside the Women's Senior European Championship, which will be co-hosted by Romania with the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and Turkey.
FRH President Constantin Dinu highlighted the importance of the men's youth championship in laying a solid foundation for the senior national team and expressed confidence in the potential of the upcoming generation.
During his tenure, Dinu has secured four major European handball events for Romania, including the Women's Youth European Championship held in 2022 in Pitești and Craiova.
Additionally, the Romanian men's senior team will participate in a preparation tournament in Spain in January 2025, where they will face top-tier teams such as Norway and Egypt.
