Salman Khan Receives New Death Threat, ₹2 Crore Ransom Demanded

Mumbai: In a troubling turn of events, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received yet another death threat, this time demanding a ransom of ₹2 crore. An anonymous message was sent to Mumbai traffic control, threatening the actor's life unless the amount is paid. The police have promptly registered a case against the unidentified sender and have launched an investigation into the matter, classifying it under extortion and death threat offenses.
This latest threat follows the recent arrest of a 20-year-old man from Noida, who was taken into custody for sending death threats to both Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, the son of NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Baba Siddique, who was tragically shot dead on October 12. The accused, identified as Gufran Khan, has been brought to Mumbai on a transit remand for further questioning.
In a separate incident, Mumbai Police also arrested 24-year-old Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, after he allegedly sent a threatening message via the Mumbai traffic police’s WhatsApp helpline. His message demanded a ransom of ₹5 crore.
Salman Khan has faced numerous threats in the past, notably from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is believed to have ties to his involvement in a controversial blackbuck hunting case during the filming of "Hum Saath Saath Hain." In April, suspected members of the gang opened fire outside Khan's residence in Bandra, prompting authorities to increase his security detail.
This surge in threats comes in the wake of the assassination of Baba Siddique, a former MLA and a close associate of Khan. Following the murder, Salman Khan made an appearance on the reality show "Bigg Boss," expressing his reluctance to return but citing work commitments. He shared that he is struggling with the emotional toll of recent events and prefers solitude during this challenging period.
As investigations continue, fans and the film fraternity remain concerned for the safety of the beloved actor, who has been a prominent figure in Bollywood for decades.
