New Delhi : The Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express (Train No. 22850) derailed near Nalpur Station in West Bengal's Howrah on Saturday morning, causing concern among passengers and authorities. According to South Eastern Railway's chief public relations officer (CPRO), Omprakash Charan, the incident involved three coaches, one of which was the B1 coach.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities so far. In response to the derailment, an accident relief train and medical relief trains were promptly deployed from Santragachi and Kharagpur, while buses were also sent to transport passengers to Kolkata. While the cause of the derailment is still under investigation, it serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures and prompt responses in the railway industry.
