Shah Rukh Khan Injured on the Sets of King, Flies to US for Treatment; Shooting Schedule Delayed

Mumbai, July 19, 2025 : Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly sustained an injury while performing intense action sequences on the sets of his upcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The incident occurred during a shoot at the Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai, following which the actor was flown to the United States for medical treatment.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the injury, though not serious, is said to be a muscular strain, aggravated by years of physical strain and action-heavy roles. A source close to the production revealed, “While the exact details have been kept under wraps, Shah Rukh, along with his team, travelled to the US for urgent medical attention. He’s been advised a month-long rest to fully recover before resuming work.

The shoot for King, which began in May 2025, has been temporarily halted. Major studio bookings at Film City, Golden Tobacco, and YRF Studios for July and August have been cancelled until further notice. The next shooting schedule is now expected to resume around September or October.

This unexpected delay has also raised questions about the film’s tentative Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release, which the makers had been eyeing. No official statement has yet been issued regarding a change in the release date.

King is one of the most anticipated films of 2026 and boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma, Saurabh Shukla, and Suhana Khan, who is rumored to play a key role opposite her father.
