Shocking Assault in Assam: Woman Raped and Acid Poured on Her in Front of Children

Cachar, Assam:  In a horrifying incident in Assam's Cachar district, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped and attacked with acid in front of her two children. The crime occurred on January 22 when the accused, a 28-year-old neighbor, barged into the woman's house following a verbal dispute between the two.

At the time, the woman's husband was away, leaving her alone with the accused. After forcing his way in, the man allegedly assaulted her and poured an acid-like substance on her body. When the husband returned home, he found his wife tied up on the floor in a critical condition. She was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital, where she is currently fighting for her life.

The police have launched a manhunt for the accused, who is on the run. A case of sexual assault has been filed, and officials are awaiting the medical report to confirm if rape occurred.

This brutal attack has shaken the community and raised serious concerns over safety. The authorities are doing everything they can to bring the perpetrator to justice.
