Siddhivinayak Temple Enforces Dress Code: No Short Skirts or Revealing Attire Allowed

Mumbai, Maharashtra:  The renowned Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple in Mumbai has announced a strict dress code for devotees, effective next week. The temple trust (SSGTT) has mandated that visitors wear decent, body-covering clothes, preferably Indian attire, to maintain the sanctity of the place of worship.

The decision comes after repeated complaints from devotees about inappropriate clothing causing discomfort. As per the new rule, short skirts, revealing outfits, ripped trousers, and any clothing exposing body parts will not be permitted inside the temple.

A spokesperson for the trust stated that the move aims to preserve the temple’s decorum and ensure a comfortable spiritual experience for all visitors. Siddhivinayak Temple, one of Mumbai’s most revered religious sites, attracts thousands of devotees daily.

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions, with some welcoming the rule as a step toward respecting religious sentiments, while others question its necessity.
