Steady Rise in Temperature Across Mumbai: Santacruz Hits 36.7°C

February 15, 2025 : Mumbai is experiencing an unusual rise in temperatures, with Santacruz recording a maximum of 36.7°C on Friday, a significant 5.3°C above the normal average. The minimum temperature also saw an increase, reaching 19.2°C, 1.5°C above the usual level.
At the IMD Colaba station, the temperature was relatively lower, with a maximum of 32.9°C, which was 2.9°C higher than normal. The minimum temperature there also rose to 21.5°C, 1.5°C above the usual.
This surge in temperatures began on February 12, when Santacruz saw a high of 32.9°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures are expected to continue rising. On Saturday, the city could see highs reaching up to 38°C, with minimum temperatures expected to remain around 20°C.
Experts forecast that the minimum temperature could increase by an additional two to three degrees Celsius over the next four to five days, making the ongoing heatwave feel even more intense.
As residents brace for higher temperatures, the IMD has advised the public to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities, and take necessary precautions against heat stress.
