Truck Hit-and-Run Claims Life of 59-Year-Old Businessman on Khairani Road, Andheri East

Andheri East, Mumbai: A 59-year-old businessman, Danmal Jain, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on Khairani Road, Andheri East. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when Jain, a steel utensil dealer, was riding his scooter to meet clients along the Saki Naka stretch. The truck, which was allegedly driving recklessly, collided with Jain's scooter from behind, causing him to fall. The truck's rear tyre then ran over him.
Despite being rushed to Paramount Hospital and placed on a ventilator, Jain succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The police, who suspect internal injuries caused the death, have traced the truck driver through the vehicle's number plate. Although the driver fled the scene, he is expected to be arrested soon.
An FIR has been registered, and the investigation continues. The accused driver faces charges under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
