Bengaluru Police Seek UP Assistance in Atul Subhash Suicide Case

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police have launched a search operation in Uttar Pradesh to locate the estranged wife and in-laws of Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old man found dead in his Munnekollal apartment on Monday, in what is suspected to be a case of suicide due to harassment.

Subhash’s brother, Bikas Kumar, filed a complaint accusing Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha, brother Anurag, and uncle Sushil of abetment to suicide. They allegedly demanded ₹3 crore to withdraw legal cases against Subhash and ₹30 lakh for his visitation rights to see his son.

Following the complaint, the Marathahalli police registered a case under sections related to abetment of suicide. A police team was dispatched to Uttar Pradesh to trace the accused, who reportedly fled their Jaunpur residence late Wednesday night. Video footage surfaced online showing Nisha and Anurag leaving home around midnight.

Jaunpur SP Ajaypal Sharma confirmed there has been no official request yet from Bengaluru Police. Meanwhile, the accused lawyer Vijay Mishra stated that Nikita had previously filed a maintenance case against Subhash, calling for a detailed investigation to uncover the truth.

Responding to allegations, Sushil Singhania denied involvement, adding, “Our family will respond legally, and we are confident of proving our innocence in court.”

Nikita and Atul were married in 2019, but marital disputes began in 2022 when Nikita accused Subhash and his family of dowry harassment in an FIR. Police investigations into the current case are ongoing.
