Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's Maiden Speech to Highlight Constitution Debate in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: As the Parliament Winter Session progresses, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress leader and newly elected MP from Wayanad, is set to deliver her debut speech in the Lok Sabha today. The House will engage in a special two-day debate marking 75 years of the Constitution, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh initiating the discussion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the debate on Saturday, as both the BJP and Congress have issued three-line whips for members to ensure full attendance on December 13 and 14.

The Winter Session, which began on November 25 and will run till December 20, has so far faced disruptions over heated debates concerning governance and allegations involving opposition parties. A unified demand for the Constitution discussion from opposition leaders is anticipated to bring focus back to legislative matters.

In parallel, tributes were paid this morning to the martyrs of the 2001 Parliament attack by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, PM Modi, and other prominent leaders. A moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the security personnel who sacrificed their lives during the terror assault.

The special discussion in Lok Sabha will follow the Question Hour, with key members, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and opposition leaders, prepared to contribute actively.
