Bomb Hoax Sparks Full-Scale Emergency on Goa-Mumbai IndiGo Flight

Mumbai, India: A bomb threat onboard IndiGo’s Goa-Mumbai flight (6E 5101) triggered a full-scale emergency at Mumbai airport on Monday night, December 20. The aircraft, an Airbus A321-251NX, landed safely at 10:32 pm and was immediately directed to an isolation bay.
A note onboard the 2.2-year-old plane, manufactured in Hamburg, Germany, warned of a bomb, leading to the activation of the Bomb Threat Analysis Committee (BTAC). After rigorous checks and following standard protocols, officials confirmed the threat was a hoax, and the emergency was lifted at 11:33 pm. All passengers were safely disembarked, and the plane was later cleared for operations.
IndiGo reassured passengers in a statement, emphasizing that "ensuring the safety and security of our customers and crew remains paramount." However, passengers expressed frustration over the delays and lack of timely updates.
“Passengers were made to wait for hours post-landing, causing a harrowing experience,” one social media user posted. Another passenger lamented the unnecessary chaos caused by such hoaxes, calling for maximum punishment for individuals responsible.
