Mumbai Man Booked for Cheating After Wife Discovers His Extramarital Affair and Child

Mumbai, Maharashtra:  A 30-year-old woman from south Mumbai has filed a police complaint accusing her husband of having an extramarital affair and fathering a child with another woman. According to the Worli police, the woman's complaint also involves her husband’s parents, who are alleged to have threatened her and taken away her gold ornaments.

The couple had married on June 14, 2024, with both families’ consent. However, tension brewed when the woman noticed discrepancies regarding her gold jewelry, which her husband claimed as his.

Suspicious of an affair, the woman overheard her husband’s phone conversation with another woman and later accessed his messages, confirming her suspicions. The husband allegedly admitted to the affair and explained that he had been juggling both relationships for years. When confronted, the husband and in-laws reportedly forced her out of their home and threatened her upon her return to Mumbai.

The police have booked the husband and his parents under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for cheating, criminal intimidation, and cruelty towards a woman.
