Borivali School Under Fire: Parents Withdraw Child After Poolside Mishap

Borivali, Mumbai: A Std IV student of JBCN International School, Borivali, sustained a head injury near the school’s swimming pool on December 20, 2024, leading her parents to withdraw her admission and issue a legal notice to the management.
According to the parents, Satyakam Gautam and Vandana Devi Laishram, their daughter slipped near the shower area after swimming class and hit her head, requiring eight stitches. They allege negligence and insensitivity by the school staff in handling the situation and providing timely medical care.
The parents claimed the school delayed rushing the child to the hospital, and despite repeated requests, they were not provided full access to CCTV footage from the incident area. They further criticized the absence of the principal and the alleged dismissive attitude of the staff during the emergency.
A school spokesperson defended their response, stating that paramedical aid was provided promptly and the parents were informed immediately. They maintained that rigorous safety protocols are in place and emphasized their commitment to student welfare.
The incident has sparked serious concerns about student safety protocols and staff accountability in educational institutions.
