Fire Breaks Out in Mumbai’s Goregaon and Andheri, Rescue Ops Underway

Mumbai, India: A fire broke out on Sunday evening at multiple shops and huts in Goregaon East, near Ratnagiri Hotel and Wagheshwari Temple. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported that the blaze, initially categorized as Level-I, was escalated to Level-II due to its intensity. The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), police, and emergency teams were swiftly mobilized. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.

In another incident, a fire erupted in a building at Andheri East’s Sher-E-Punjab Society due to a leaking Piped Natural Gas (PNG) pipeline. The fire, which spread to two moving vehicles, left three people injured. Victims include Arvindkumar Kaithal (30-40% burns), Aman Harishankar Saroj (40-50% burns), and autorickshaw driver Suresh Kailas Gupta (20% burns). All were admitted to Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Centre for treatment.

Firefighters managed to control both blazes, and authorities continue to monitor the situation.
