Kalyan, Thane: A newlywed man in Kalyan, Thane, was attacked by his father-in-law in a shocking acid assault following a disagreement over their honeymoon destination. The victim, 29-year-old Ibad Atik Falke, was injured when his 65-year-old father-in-law, Jaki Gulam Murtuza Khotar, hurled acid at him after an argument. Falke had planned to visit Kashmir for the honeymoon, but Khotar wanted the couple to travel to a religious site abroad.

Falke has been admitted to the hospital with severe burns, while the accused, Khotar, is currently on the run. Police have launched a manhunt for him.

Khotar faces serious charges, including attempted murder (Section 307), voluntarily causing hurt (Section 324), and violations under the acid attack law (Section 326A). Authorities are determined to bring him to justice, as acid attacks remain a serious crime in India, with life sentences and significant penalties for such offenses.
