MCX records turnover of Rs.7231.22 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.48344.79 crores in Options

GOLD Oct/24 futures contract gains by 0.01% and SILVER Dec/24 futures contract gains by 0.08%, while CRUDEOIL Sep/24 futures contract gains by 0.83% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep/24 futures was reached at 17953 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.55576.91 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Friday, September 6, 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 7231.22 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 48344.79 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep/24 futures was reached at 17953 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 3733.48 crores. GOLD Oct/24 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 71921 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep/24 contract was up by 0.09% to Rs. 58099 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep/24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 7060 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct/24 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 71857 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec/24 contract was up by 0.08% to Rs. 85023 per kg, while SILVERM Nov/24 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 85043 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov/24 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 85087 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1534.15 crores with volume of 2129 lots and OI of 20251 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1015.30 crores with volume of 3973 lots and OI of 30239 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1621.17 crores. COPPER Sep/24 contract was up by 0.3% to Rs. 794.55 per kg and ZINC Sep/24 contract was up by 0.58% to Rs. 258.45 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep/24 contract was up by 0.3% to Rs. 220.75 per kg and LEAD Sep/24 without any changes 182.1 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1013.08 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 156.80 crores, Lead futures Rs. 22.00 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 318.69 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1961.04 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep/24 contract was up by 0.83% to Rs. 5858 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep/24 contract was down by 0.42% to Rs. 190.1 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 658.21 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1093.46 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep/24 contract was down by 0.01% to Rs. 960 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep/24 contract was down by 0.27% to Rs. 59000 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 48344.79 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 982.01 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Sep/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was up by 13.64% to Rs. 182.50 with volume of 68821 lots & OI of 11226 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Sep/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 14.66% to Rs. 167.6 with volume of 49831 lots & OI of 12199 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.190 was down by 4.15% to Rs. 10.40 with volume of 22790 lots & OI of 7785 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.190 was up by 3% to Rs. 10.3 with volume of 19920 lots & OI of 7198 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.73000 was up by 4.34% to Rs. 552.50 with volume of 342 lots & OI of 956 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was down by 0.64% to Rs. 547 with volume of 518 lots & OI of 1027 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 2.08% to Rs. 3611.00 with volume of 251 lots & OI of 833 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov/24 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 without any changes 3531 with volume of 265 lots & OI of 550 lots.
