Mumbai:Haji Ali and Mahim Dargahs Cancel Shamiana Lounge Setup Due to Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi Processions

Mumbai:The much-anticipated setup of the Shamiana Lounge by the Haji Ali and Mahim Dargahs at J J Hospital Junction, scheduled for September 19, has been canceled. The managing trustee of both dargahs, Sohail Khandwani, announced that the plan has been postponed due to logistical challenges arising from the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi processions.
Originally, the Shamiana Lounge was set to be erected on September 16, coinciding with the Prophet's birthday. However, in response to the Ganesh Chaturthi visarjan on September 17, which has extended the religious processions to September 18, it became impractical to complete the setup in time.
Khandwani explained, "Given that the visarjan processions will continue late into the night on September 17, it is not logistically feasible to construct the massive Shamiana Lounge in such a short timeframe. As a result, we are deferring the setup to next year."
The decision to delay was made to ensure that the religious and cultural activities in the city could proceed smoothly and without disruption.
