Navi Mumbai Police Bust Prostitution Racket, Three Women Rescued

Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra: The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of Navi Mumbai police raided a lodge near APMC in Vashi and busted a prostitution racket, rescuing three women and arresting three men involved in the illegal operation.

Acting on a tip-off, police sent a decoy customer to confirm the activity before conducting the raid on Wednesday. The arrested individuals include lodge manager Bunty Saw, cook Kumar Gauda, and agent Tarapada Das. Authorities are also searching for a fourth suspect, Vicky, believed to be involved in the operation. The rescued women have been shifted to a government-run rehabilitation center for counselling and support.

Meanwhile, similar anti-trafficking operations were carried out in Palghar and Thane, where police arrested multiple individuals and rescued several women. In Palghar, a 50-year-old man was arrested after police raided a room near a hotel in Vasai East, where a deal was made for ₹29,000 via WhatsApp.

The accused in all cases have been booked under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, and authorities continue to crack down on illegal trafficking networks in Maharashtra.
