New Delhi : As the third and final phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir took place, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters to actively participate in the democratic process.
The voting began for 40 seats across seven districts, including the winter capital Jammu, with more than 39.18 lakh eligible voters expected to cast their votes and decide the fate of 415 candidates. The results of the elections are scheduled to be announced on October 8.
In his appeal, Modi emphasized the importance of every vote and expressed confidence in the youth and women of Jammu and Kashmir to come out and exercise their franchise.
Union Minister Amit Shah also called for a historic vote that will bring a visionary government to power, one that can address issues of security, peace, stability, and development in the region.
With 202 candidates in the fray in 16 assembly segments in the Kashmir region and 24 assembly constituencies in the Jammu region, including Udhampur, Samba, and Kathua districts, this final phase of voting will be crucial in determining the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
