Prime Minister Modi to join 'Water Conservation Public Participation' initiative program today

New Delhi:The 'Water Conservation Public Participation' initiative is going to be launched today in Surat, the industrial city of Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join this program. He will address this ceremony through video conferencing at 12:30 pm. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India has shared this information by issuing a press release on the eve of the ceremony. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also shared this program of Prime Minister Modi on the X handle this morning.
According to the PIB release, this initiative takes forward the vision of the Prime Minister. It aims to conserve water with an emphasis on community participation and ownership. It is driven by the vision of the whole society and the whole government. In view of the success of the efforts of the Gujarat government, the Union Ministry of Water Power is launching the Water Conservation Public Participation Initiative in Gujarat. The Government of Gujarat has made an effort to mobilise citizens, local bodies, industries and other stakeholders to ensure a water secure future.
Around 24,800 rainwater harvesting structures are being constructed across Gujarat with community participation. These recharge structures will help enhance rainwater harvesting and ensure long-term water sustainability.
