Rally and Silent March for Street Dog Welfare to Be Held in Mumbai on August 14–15

Mumbai, August 13 : Mumbai’s animal welfare community is gearing up for two impactful events aimed at raising awareness and demanding justice for street dogs across the city. Organized by animal rights advocates and volunteers, these events will take place on August 14 and 15, drawing attention to the plight of India’s stray dog population.

The first event, a rally titled “Save Our Indies,” is scheduled for August 14 at 11 AM at Carter Road. Organizers are calling on Mumbaikars to “be the voice for the voiceless” and join the fight for the freedom and rights of street dogs.

On August 15, a silent march will be held at Azad Maidan Fort, beginning at 12 PM. Participants are requested to wear black attire to symbolise solidarity and protest against cruelty toward street animals.

Both events aim to promote empathy, demand stronger protective measures for street dogs, and foster community engagement in animal welfare efforts. Animal lovers, NGOs, and concerned citizens are being urged to participate and help amplify the message of compassion.

Organisers hope the twin events will push authorities and the general public to take more concrete actions in safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of street animals.
