Navi Mumbai, August 13 : Central Railway’s mainline services came to a standstill on Wednesday morning following a tragic accident near Badlapur station, where an unidentified individual was fatally knocked down while allegedly trespassing on the tracks.
According to railway officials, the Badlapur local train was held up between 8:05 AM and 8:40 AM at the UP loop near the home signal, pending clearance of the tracks. The delay caused a cascading effect across the network, affecting several local trains and leading to significant disruption during peak commuter hours.

Emergency responders and railway staff reached the location swiftly to manage the situation and ensure the area was cleared. Normal train operations resumed gradually once the track was declared safe.
Commuters across the Central Railway corridor experienced extended travel times, particularly those traveling between Kalyan, Thane, and CSMT.
Railway authorities reiterated their appeal to the public, urging citizens to use foot overbridges (FOBs) and subways for safe crossing, emphasizing the life-threatening risk involved in trespassing on railway tracks.
