Scrap Shop Brothers Arrested for Brutal Murder of Ola Driver in Mumbai

Mumbai: In a shocking incident in Shivaji Nagar, two brothers who run a scrap shop were arrested early Sunday for fatally attacking an Ola cab driver, Adil Talim Khan, 38. The crime was triggered by a minor altercation after Khan’s car accidentally grazed the brothers' scooter, injuring their mother.
According to the Shivaji Nagar police, Mohammad Rafiq Shaikh (35), also known as Papa, and his younger brother Abdul Karim Shaikh (30), known as Dadu, stabbed Khan multiple times at his house on Saturday night.
Earlier that day, Khan's vehicle had toppled the brothers' scooter near their shop, causing a minor injury to their mother. A heated argument between Khan and Mohammad Rafiq turned into a scuffle, which bystanders intervened to break up. However, tensions flared again after Khan returned with two men to allegedly assault Rafiq.
Enraged, the brothers devised a plan for revenge. Around 11 pm, armed with a chopper and knife, they stormed Khan’s home. Ignoring his wife, they repeatedly stabbed Khan in his head, chest, abdomen, and thigh. Neighbors, alarmed by his screams, rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
“Both brothers were arrested from their neighborhood shortly after the incident,” said Senior Inspector Bapurao Deshmukh. Based on the victim’s wife’s statement, police booked the duo for murder.
