PM Modistated at the 'Lakhpati Didi Sammelan' in Maharashtra's Jalgaon that the country's aim is not just to strengthen mothers, sisters, and daughters, but also to ensure their safety. "I've brought up this topic several times from the Red Fort. Today, I understand my sisters' and daughters' anguish and indignation, regardless of where they are in the country. I will reiterate toevery political party in the country, as well as every state administration, that violence against women is an unforgivable crime."
The Prime Minister went on to say that the guilty including anybody who helps them in any manner, should be punished. Whether it a hospital, school, government, or police department, carelessness at any level must be addressedand everyone responsible must be held accountable. A strong message must begiven from the top down that this offense is unforgiveable.
PM Modi's wordscame as thousands of women protested around the country, seeking justice for the savage rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor in Kolkata. On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with 'Lakhpati Didis', women members of self-help organizations who earn Rs 1 lakh per year, in Maharashtra's Jalgaon. PM On Women's Security and New Laws:
Talking about women's security, PM Modi stated that his administration is constantly tightening laws to punish those who perpetrate atrocities against women. "Today, such a great number of sisters and daughters of the country are present. I want to tell you something in particular. Previously, there were allegations that FIRs were not filed on time, there was no hearing, and cases were postponed.
Many such hurdles have been eliminated from the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. There is a whole chapter dedicated to crimes against women and children. Ifthe victim ladies do not want to travel to the police station, they can file an e-FIR from home," Prime Minister said.
Prime minister Modi told the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Jalgaon, "You must have heard that India is going to become the world's third-largest economy." Women have an important role in it. This wasn't the situation a few years ago. Women ensure the success of every household and family. However, no one could ensure the women's safety. Women did not own property and could not obtain a loan from abank. In this scenario, they were unable to establish their own little firm. "We made judgments in the interests of women year after year. Previously, lakhs ofsisters throughout the country had no property in their name. If they needed abank loan, they couldn't get one. In such a condition, individuals were unable to do even little tasks. That's why your brother, your kid, made a commitment. I resolved that no matter what happened, I would make every effort to alleviate the difficulties that my country's mothers, sisters, and daughters experience. As a result, the Modi government made one step after another in the favor of women," the Prime Minister explained.
