Western and Central Railways Announce Weekend Blocks for Maintenance: Check Full Schedule and Train Impacts

Mumbai, April 18, 2025: In a move aimed at ensuring the safety and efficiency of suburban railway operations, the Western and Central Railways have announced scheduled night and mega blocks this weekend for essential maintenance works across multiple sections of the Mumbai suburban network.

Western Railway: Night Block Between Vasai Road and Vaitarna

Western Railway will operate a night block on the up and down fast lines between Vasai Road and Vaitarna stations on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday (April 18/19, 2025).

According to a press release issued by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway:

  • Up fast line block: From 23:50 hrs to 02:50 hrs

  • Down fast line block: From 01:30 hrs to 04:30 hrs

Due to this block, Train No. 19101 Virar–Bharuch MEMU will be delayed by 10 minutes, departing from Virar at 04:45 hrs instead of its scheduled 04:35 hrs.

Western Railway confirmed that no day-time block will be operated on Sunday, April 20, 2025, on its suburban section.


Central Railway: Mega Block on Sunday, April 20

The Central Railway’s Mumbai Division will undertake a mega block on various suburban sections to carry out essential engineering and maintenance work on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Below are the detailed timings and impact on services:

1. CSMT–Vidyavihar (Up & Down Slow Lines)

Block Time: 10:55 hrs to 15:55 hrs (5 hours)

  • Down slow services from CSMT between 10:48 hrs and 15:45 hrs will be diverted via down fast line, halting at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla, then re-diverted to down slow line at Vidyavihar.

  • Up slow services from Ghatkopar between 10:19 hrs and 15:52 hrs will run on up fast line, halting at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla.

Stations without service during this block:
Masjid, Sandhurst Road, Chinchpokli, Currey Road (on both up and down lines)

Last/First Services on Affected Routes:

  • Last down slow local before block: Departs CSMT at 10:07 hrs

  • First down slow local after block: Departs CSMT at 15:57 hrs

  • Last up slow local before block: Departs Kalyan at 09:13 hrs

  • First up slow local after block: Departs Kalyan at 15:10 hrs

2. Thane–Vashi/Nerul (Up & Down Trans Harbour Lines)

Block Time: 11:10 hrs to 16:10 hrs (5 hours)

  • Down Harbour services from Thane to Vashi/Nerul/Panvel will remain cancelled from 10:35 hrs to 16:07 hrs.

  • Up Harbour services from Panvel/Nerul/Vashi to Thane will be suspended from Vashi at 10:25 hrs to Nerul at 16:09 hrs.
