Bomb scare diverts London-bound Vistara flight to Frankfurt

New Delhi : A London-bound Vistara flight from Delhi was diverted to Frankfurt on Friday following a bomb threat. The airline spokesperson stated that the flight landed safely at the Frankfurt airport and mandatory security checks are being conducted before the flight can continue its journey to London.

The security threat was received on social media, and all relevant authorities were immediately informed. As a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to divert the flight to Frankfurt. According to an official, the flight had received a bomb threat. In a similar incident, Akasa Air's flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai also received a security alert before departure, leading to all passengers being deplaned and necessary procedures being followed. These incidents have raised concerns about the safety of air travel and the Civil Aviation Ministry plans to implement strict norms to prevent hoax bomb threats in the future.

This includes placing the perpetrators on the no-fly list. In recent days, there have been almost 40 cases of Indian airlines receiving bomb threats which turned out to be hoaxes.

It is important for the aviation industry to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
