Elderly Woman Killed by Reckless Delivery Biker in Chandivali

Mumbai, Chandivali: In a tragic incident, a 64-year-old woman, Saromi Singh, lost her life after being hit by a recklessly driven motorbike in Chandivali's Nahar Amrut Shakti area. The accident occurred between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm as Singh, a resident of Mira Road, was on her way to a Jain temple.

The motorbike, ridden by 19-year-old delivery executive Hirsha Pujari, struck Singh from behind, causing her to fall and sustain severe head injuries. Witnesses quickly rushed the injured woman to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar East. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries before her son, Sonu Singh, 40, could reach the hospital after being informed of the incident.

The Sakinaka police have arrested Pujari and booked him for causing death by negligence and rash driving, based on Sonu Singh’s complaint.

The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the growing issue of reckless driving in Mumbai.
