Stock Market Shows Positive Trend in Early Trading, Sensex and Nifty Trade Strongly

New Delhi, February 4 : The domestic stock market is witnessing a positive trend during the early hours of trading today. Due to the global market's optimism following U.S. President Donald Trump's indication of easing the tariff war, the domestic stock market also started trading with strength. As the market opened, buying support led both Sensex and Nifty indices to rise. However, after the first half-hour of trading, profit-booking led to a slight dip in both indices. After the first hour of trading, Sensex was up by 0.69% and Nifty by 0.66%.
After the first hour of trading, shares of major stocks like Hindalco Industries, Tata Motors, ONGC, Bharat Electronics, and Larsen & Toubro were trading with gains between 3.08% and 2.13%. On the other hand, shares of Trent Limited, Bharti Airtel, Apollo Hospital, Power Grid Corporation, and Hindustan Unilever were trading with declines between 5.32% and 1.12%.
So far, 2,388 stocks were actively trading in the market. Among them, 1,910 stocks were trading in the green, earning profits, while 478 stocks were trading in the red, suffering losses. Similarly, out of the 30 shares in the Sensex, 21 shares were trading in the green with buying support, while 9 shares were under selling pressure and trading in the red. In the Nifty index, 35 out of 50 shares were in the green, while 15 shares were in the red.
BSE's Sensex opened at 77,687.60 points, up by 500.86 points. As soon as the market opened, buying support helped the index surge to 77,951.81 points in the first half-hour. However, after profit-booking started, there was a slight decline in the index's movement. After the first hour of trading, at 10:15 AM, the Sensex was trading at 77,722.29 points, up by 535.55 points.
Similarly, NSE's Nifty opened at 23,509.90 points, up by 148.85 points. After the market opened, buying support led the index to surge to 23,582 points, but after profit-booking, the index also witnessed a decline. After the first hour of trading, at 10:15 AM, the Nifty was trading at 23,514.85 points, up by 153.80 points.
On the previous trading day, Monday, Sensex closed at 77,186.74 points, down by 319.22 points, or 0.41%. Nifty closed at 23,361.05 points, down by 121.10 points, or 0.52%.
